The 2015 European season is drawing ever closer, with the first of several planned pre season tests, complete for the newest GT3 team: Solaris Motorsport. After acquiring one of the most successful Callaway Z06.R chassis in December 2014, the Italian based team have been hard at work in preparation for their debut season in the International GT Open. Over the weekend of February 8th, Solaris completed a successful shakedown at the Adria Raceway Circuit, in the Veneto region of Northern Italy. The primary purpose of this first test for the team was to ensure both the mechanical areas of the car were performing well, and to also learn its on track characteristics.

Despite cold temperatures for the team, the Z06.R was able to successfully clock more than than 40 laps during the day (completed by driver Francesco Sini). The test overall, ran without a single mechanical issue (including a time very close to the GT3 spec lap record!), which was a very satisfying result for the teams first outing with their new car. Sini, the 2014 EuroV8 Series reigning champion, was immensely satisfied with his first outing and is very excited at the cars potential for this season. "What a debut! I'm really satisfied, the car is much quicker than I had expected and, it's really easy to bring to its limit. In GT races, where the race pace is fundamental, being able to push on the limit, is a very important quality" commented Sini after the test. "I drove and won with all Chevrolet branded cars, from Lumina to Camaro and its SaReNi Reiter GT3 version; now I want to do the same with the Corvette!"

While Sini is currently confirmed for GT Open, the teams second driver is still in the process of being decided for the 2015 season. "I hope to know the name of my teammate in a few days, so that we can start to work on the season early in order to try to catch the important goals we want to reach this year. We have 2 months of hard work ahead, we will concentrate on every detail in order to be ready for the first race, from the single lap performance to the full-race pace, as well as the pit stops. I want my team ready for the beginning of the season! Callaway Competition and us, together with all the Corvette Motorsport guys, have great expectations this year and we will do all we can not to disappoint anyone."

Roberto Sini, Solaris Motorsport team principal, is looking forward with a renewed outlook, after the positive day of testing: "I'm very satisfied with the session in Adria, not only for the surprising performance shown by Corvette, but especially for the reliability of the car: zero problems in the entire day! The good performance of Francesco, then, gives us great confidence and determination for the future".

Solaris Motorsport will be back on track at the end of February, with a new test session scheduled on the track of Vallelunga.
